Bengaluru, December 29, 2024:
Riding high on the success of Chandrayaan-3, India is now gearing up for its next lunar mission, Chandrayaan-4. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has announced plans to launch this ambitious project in late 2025, aiming for a more detailed exploration of the moon's far side.
Chandrayaan-4 will feature advanced rover and orbiter technologies, equipped with AI-powered instruments to conduct geological studies and analyze lunar minerals. It will also carry payloads from international partners, showcasing India’s growing stature in global space collaborations.
ISRO Chairman S. Somanath highlighted the mission's significance, saying, “Chandrayaan-4 is not just another mission; it’s a testament to India’s advancing space capabilities and our commitment to unraveling the mysteries of the universe.”
The mission aligns with India’s long-term goals, including lunar colonization and a potential manned mission to the moon by 2030. Chandrayaan-4 is expected to open new frontiers in scientific research and position India among the elite group of spacefaring nations pushing the boundaries of human knowledge.
