India is rapidly transforming into a global leader in renewable energy, setting ambitious targets and achieving remarkable milestones in green energy production. With a goal to achieve 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030, the country has already crossed 200 GW, encompassing solar, wind, hydro, and biomass energy.
The International Solar Alliance (ISA), spearheaded by India, has been pivotal in driving global solar adoption. Through partnerships with over 100 countries, the ISA aims to facilitate investments in solar projects, making renewable energy more accessible and affordable worldwide.
Union Power and Renewable Energy Minister R.K. Singh highlighted India’s progress, saying, “Our focus is not just on increasing capacity but also on ensuring energy equity. We aim to electrify every village and provide sustainable solutions for the future.”
India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission is another flagship program that has garnered global attention. The mission seeks to position the country as a leading exporter of green hydrogen, a clean fuel with immense potential in industrial and transportation sectors.
