BJP Accuses Congress of Resorting to Deceptive Tactics Ahead of Dehradun Civic Polls

Dehradun, January 9: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused the Congress of engaging in baseless allegations and divisive tactics as a desperate measure to counter an impending defeat in the Dehradun civic elections. BJP spokesperson and Rajpur MLA Khajan Das claimed that the Congress has resorted to spreading falsehoods, reflecting its frustration over losing public support.

Addressing the media, Das said, "The double-engine government’s development work and the popularity of our mayoral candidate, Saurabh Thapliyal, have created a one-sided contest in Dehradun. Realizing their loss is imminent, Congress has resorted to fabricating baseless allegations against BJP workers campaigning in areas like Race Course."

Das further stated that he was personally present during the alleged incident and confirmed that no such altercation took place. "Congress is resorting to misinformation and propaganda on social media to cover up their lack of ground-level presence. Over the last decade, they’ve become a party more active online than on the streets," he added.

The BJP claimed that Congress's allegations are aimed at misleading voters and salvaging their waning electoral prospects. However, Das expressed confidence in the public's trust in the development work carried out under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

"The people of Dehradun, like the rest of Uttarakhand, have witnessed the tangible benefits of the BJP’s welfare schemes and infrastructure projects. They will not fall for Congress's conspiracies and are ready to give us a resounding victory once again," he said.

As the civic polls near, the political battle in Dehradun is heating up, with both parties trading accusations. While BJP remains confident in its development agenda, Congress continues to challenge its claims, making the upcoming elections a closely watched contest.
