Dehradun, December 4: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has dismissed the Congress-led "Nasha Nahi, Naukri Do" rally as a political gimmick, calling it a "flop show" fueled by frustration. BJP State Media In-Charge Manveer Singh Chauhan criticized the Congress for attempting to politicize critical issues like unemployment and drug abuse, asserting that their past actions as a ruling party disqualify them from leading such movements.
"Congress a Partner in Corruption": Chauhan's Rebuke
Chauhan accused the Congress of being complicit in corruption during its tenure, particularly in recruitment scams and enabling drug cartels. “The public has repeatedly rejected Congress for its failures. Today’s rally is just another desperate attempt to remain relevant,” he stated. He also highlighted that the BJP-led Dhami government has achieved milestones in governance, providing 19,000 government jobs and actively tackling the drug menace under a mission-driven campaign.
"Political Stunt Over Substance"
Reacting to allegations of unemployment, Chauhan noted that the Dhami administration has consistently worked to reduce joblessness. He highlighted initiatives like the Chief Minister’s Self-Employment Scheme, which has empowered thousands of youths to establish their businesses, and private sector employment drives facilitated with central government support.
“Unemployment rates in Uttarakhand have steadily declined due to government initiatives. But Congress continues to ignore these facts, choosing instead to politicize the issue,” Chauhan added.
Congress' Record Under Fire
Chauhan accused the Congress of fostering corruption during its rule, citing repeated recruitment scams and its alleged ties with cheating mafias. He pointed out that when the Dhami government introduced a stringent anti-cheating law to secure the future of students, Congress opposed it.
“Instead of supporting efforts to ensure fairness in exams and eliminate corruption, Congress was out protesting against these reforms. Their track record on youth-related issues is abysmal,” Chauhan said.
Drug Abuse: A Political Blame Game?
Chauhan also slammed Congress for failing to address the drug problem during its tenure, alleging that their governance drew inspiration from Punjab's drug crisis. “The Congress not only ignored the rising drug menace but actively shielded and partnered with those involved in it,” he charged, claiming that BJP’s mission to eradicate drugs has been far more effective under Dhami’s leadership.
Congress' Conduct in Rallies Criticized
Chauhan condemned the alleged misbehavior of Congress workers during the rally, including acts of disruption at a journalist event. Calling it an attack on the democratic fourth pillar, he stated, “It is ironic that those who champion the Constitution are disrespecting journalists. Such actions reflect Congress' growing frustration with their failures.”
Public Has Already Decided, Says BJP
The BJP believes that Congress has already faced the public's verdict on these issues multiple times at the ballot box. “The people of Uttarakhand know Congress' history. They are using sensitive social issues as political tools, which is shameful,” Chauhan concluded.
The BJP reiterated its commitment to tackling unemployment and drug abuse through systemic reforms and sustainable solutions, while dismissing the Congress' protest as hollow rhetoric.
