Election Results 2024: PM Modi Targets Congress, Calls Urban Naxalism a Challenge with 'Remote Control Outside India'

In a resounding victory, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has delivered a historic performance in Maharashtra, securing 235 out of 288 assembly seats in the November 20 elections. The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance is set to retain power in the state, marking its best-ever electoral outcome. The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi suffered a heavy defeat, winning only 46 seats.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the victory, sharply criticized the Congress, calling its "urban Naxalism" a significant challenge to India's progress. He further claimed that the party's "remote control lies outside the country," reinforcing his stance against the opposition.

Meanwhile, in Jharkhand, Hemant Soren's JMM-led alliance retained control, winning 56 seats in the 81-member assembly. The BJP and its allies managed to claim 24 seats and lead in one.

These results showcase the BJP's dominance in Maharashtra and the INDIA bloc's steadfast hold over Jharkhand, setting the stage for further political battles.
