Tragedy struck in Melbourne, Australia, as a 22-year-old Indian student, Navjeet Sandhu, pursuing MTech, lost his life in a shocking incident of violence. Navjeet was allegedly stabbed to death while attempting to mediate in a confrontation between a group of Indian students, as revealed by his grieving uncle.

The distressing incident unfolded at 9 pm local time in Melbourne, where Navjeet Sandhu, along with another student, found themselves embroiled in a dispute. According to Navjeet's uncle, the confrontation stemmed from a rent-related disagreement among the Indian students. Amid the escalating tension, Navjeet, in a noble attempt to diffuse the situation, intervened, only to meet a tragic end when he was fatally stabbed in the chest by another student wielding a knife.

Navjeet's uncle, Yashvir, recounted the heart-wrenching details, describing how Navjeet, upon hearing commotion, rushed to intervene, only to become a victim of senseless violence. The accused perpetrators, identified as Abhijeet and Robin Gartan, are also reported to hail from Karnal, the same hometown as Navjeet.
