In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed various topics, including criticisms from opposition leaders, his development vision, and the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
When questioned about the opposition's attacks, PM Modi stated that he does not see them as enemies. He expressed a desire to work collaboratively with opposition leaders, emphasizing his openness to constructive criticism and advice.
"I never challenge and I want to take them along. I do not underestimate anyone. They have formed the government for 60-70 years. I want to learn the good things that they did. I do not consider the Opposition as the enemy," he told NDTV.
PM Modi also welcomed experienced opposition leaders to offer advice for the country's benefit. "They can say whatever they want to the media - good or bad, but if they have anything to offer for the country's good then I welcome them. I don't wish any ill upon anyone," he said.
He further stressed the need to move away from outdated traditions and laws to build India's future, advocating for reform, performance, and transformation.
Responding to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's comment about June 4 being the expiry date of the BJP-led government, Modi remarked that it is constitutionally accurate as a new government will form after the elections.
The Lok Sabha elections are being conducted in seven phases, with results set to be announced on June 4.
