Bharat Vandana Park in Dwarka Set to Enchant Visitors by March 2023

Delhi Development Authority (DDA) officials have announced that the eagerly anticipated Bharat Vandana Park in Dwarka's Sector 20 is on track to welcome the public by March 2023. Spanning a vast 220 acres, this monumental park, costing ₹524 crore, promises to be a unique attraction with its diverse zones, cultural exhibits, adventure sports facilities, and eco-friendly initiatives.

Initially conceived as a "mini India," the Bharat Vandana Park will showcase replicas of significant monuments from various states across the country, making it a distinctive landmark for Delhi residents. Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone in December 2019, and although the initial deadline was March 2022, disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent delays in obtaining environmental clearances pushed the completion date to March 2023.

Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena expressed satisfaction with the project's progress, highlighting the meticulous attention to detail in constructing replicas using the same materials as the original monuments. The park will feature 36 replicas of iconic structures, including the Sun Temple in Odisha, Charminar in Telangana, Kashi Vishwanath temple and Varanasi ghats in Uttar Pradesh, Ajanta and Ellora caves in Maharashtra, Viceregal Lodge in Himachal Pradesh, Victoria Memorial in West Bengal, Golghar in Bihar, and Hawa Mahal in Rajasthan.

The park's layout includes an eco-forest zone, multiple lakes, cultural and adventure sports facilities, and the central attraction—36 replicas forming a "Mini India" park in the shape of the country's map. Divided into different leaves of a lotus flower, each zone serves a unique purpose, incorporating elements like sky bridges, walkways along the wall, and water canals to enhance the visitor experience.

A key focal point, the 'Vandana Sarovar,' located at the center of the park, not only adds aesthetic appeal but also contributes to the micro-climate within the premises. The park aims to embrace environmentally friendly practices such as efficient rainwater harvesting, solar power generation, landscaped area recharging, and zero net discharge.

The park will be divided into 10 zones, each shaped like a lotus leaf and covering 10 to 12 acres. Noteworthy features include a toy train and sky walk connecting various sections, interlinked water bodies for boating, and dedicated areas for food plazas and restaurants. Additionally, the green precincts will offer activities like boating, zip-lining, an animatronic zoo, musical fountain, light shows, and observatories on pylon structures, creating vibrant and independent nodes within the overall site.
