BJP Gears Up for Phase 2 of Election Campaign in Uttarakhand: CM Dhami to Lead Massive Outreach Initiatives

Dehradun, 8 January: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to launch the second phase of its election campaign in Uttarakhand, starting on January 11. Led by Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami and state president Mahendra Bhatt, the party plans to intensify its outreach efforts with a series of public rallies, street corner meetings, roadshows, and other programs aimed at garnering support for its candidates across the state.

Speaking to the media at the party headquarters, State General Secretary Aditya Kothari provided insights into the ongoing election campaign strategy. He explained that the first phase of the BJP's campaign was focused on direct engagement with voters, particularly through door-to-door outreach by official party candidates, including mayoral and municipal and panchayat chairperson nominees. With this phase nearing its conclusion, Kothari revealed that the party will kick off the second phase on January 11, marking a shift towards more public-facing events aimed at energizing the electorate.

“From January 11, we will hold mass rallies, street corner meetings, roadshows, and other similar events across various local bodies. Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami will be leading more than two dozen of these events, ensuring that the party’s message reaches voters in every corner of the state,” Kothari said. He further stated that the state president, Mahendra Bhatt, along with former Chief Ministers, MPs, and party star campaigners, will play a pivotal role in galvanizing public support for the BJP.

In addition to the planned rallies, Kothari also addressed concerns regarding party workers who have chosen to run as independent candidates instead of supporting BJP’s official nominees. He clarified that the last day for such workers to reconsider their stance is January 11, after which any continued opposition to the party’s official candidates will be deemed as indiscipline. “Our effort has been to respectfully engage and convince our workers to back the official candidates. We have asked district presidents to submit reports on any workers who remain in opposition, and appropriate disciplinary action will follow,” Kothari emphasized.

As the BJP steps up its campaign, the political atmosphere in Uttarakhand is expected to intensify with high-profile rallies and an escalating battle for public support. With the state elections fast approaching, the coming days will likely see further political maneuvering as parties make their final push for voter loyalty.
