In a recent press conference held at the BJP's state office in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Minister, Mr. Vishwas Sarang, strongly countered allegations made by Congress leaders Jitu Patwari and Umang Singhar against the state government. Sarang accused the opposition leaders of fabricating false claims in an attempt to deflect attention from internal factionalism within the Congress party.
The controversy erupted after Patwari and Singhar addressed the media, alleging mismanagement and corruption under the BJP government. Sarang dismissed these accusations as baseless, asserting that the Congress leaders were merely trying to create confusion among the public while hiding their own party's internal issues.
Sarang pointed out that the Congress leaders’ claims were not only misleading but also lacked any factual basis. He reminded the public that during the tenure of the previous Congress government under Kamal Nath, the state saw a surge in debt accumulation and transfers within the bureaucracy. Sarang emphasized that such allegations from Patwari and Singhar were aimed at deflecting attention from their party's track record, particularly the so-called “transfer industry” during the Congress government.
Highlighting the achievements of the current BJP government, Sarang assured that the BJP's manifesto commitments were being diligently fulfilled. He mentioned that within the first year of governance, over 50 promises from the BJP’s 456-point manifesto had already been delivered, with progress being made on another 310. Sarang also boasted that under Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav's leadership, the state had made significant strides in development, including attracting investments worth over ₹3.5 lakh crore, potentially creating around four lakh new jobs for the citizens.
Sarang further claimed that the BJP government was effectively handling law and order, with a significant reduction in crime rates over the past year. He referenced the government's efforts in tackling organized crime, including the seizure of assets worth over ₹115 crore from illegal activities, as proof of their commitment to public safety.
In response to the Congress' accusations regarding state debt, Sarang clarified that while the BJP government had indeed taken loans, every rupee borrowed had been invested in infrastructure and development projects. He contrasted this with the previous Congress government, which, according to Sarang, had borrowed heavily without focusing on meaningful development.
Sarang also dismissed the claim of a "transfer industry" under the BJP administration, stating that the current government had placed restrictions on unnecessary transfers. He pointed out that any transfers that had occurred were essential for maintaining efficient governance, and no mass transfers had taken place under the current regime.
While the Congress party continues to level accusations against the BJP, Sarang's comments signal a resolve within the ruling party to counter these allegations with confidence, emphasizing the government's ongoing commitment to fulfilling its development promises and ensuring transparency in governance.
