Arvind Kejriwal Receives Insulin Jab in Jail Amid Health Concerns

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, currently detained in Tihar jail, received an insulin jab after his sugar levels spiked, his party confirmed to the BBC. Kejriwal, arrested on March 21 in connection with a money laundering case, has been a vocal critic of the Indian government, leading to speculation about the political motivations behind his detention.

Kejriwal's deteriorating health, exacerbated by his diabetes, has raised concerns among his supporters, prompting calls for proper medical treatment. His party, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), accused prison authorities of neglecting Kejriwal's health needs, leading to a public dispute involving Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The Enforcement Directorate (ED), responsible for Kejriwal's arrest, alleged that he deliberately manipulated his sugar levels by consuming excessive sweets and mangoes to secure bail. Kejriwal vehemently denied these claims, asserting his need for insulin and accusing authorities of medical negligence.

After a court ordered doctors from Delhi's AIIMS to assess his medication, Kejriwal finally received the insulin injection on Monday evening. AAP leaders criticized the BJP for allegedly obstructing Kejriwal's medical treatment, accusing them of exploiting his health condition for political gain during the ongoing general election.

The clash between AAP and BJP highlights the contentious nature of Kejriwal's arrest and its implications for Indian politics. Despite facing legal challenges, Kejriwal remains steadfast in his opposition to the BJP-led government, emphasizing the need for due process and accountability in law enforcement.
