In a tragic incident in outer Delhi's Aman Vihar, two minors aged 13 and 17, along with an 18-year-old, were arrested for their involvement in the stabbing death of a 24-year-old man. The attack, driven by personal enmity, occurred in the early hours of Thursday, resulting in the victim's demise.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Guriqbal Singh Sidhu revealed that the assailants, identified as Sumit Sagar (18) and the two minors, were motivated by personal animosity with the victim, Anshul Kumar. The altercation between Kumar and the teenagers had originated from a petty dispute a few months ago, escalating over time. Kumar, engaged in multiple small businesses, allegedly slapped the minors during the earlier quarrel, leading to a desire for revenge on their part.
The fatal attack unfolded a little after midnight on Thursday while Kumar was in the street near his residence with a friend. Armed with two knives, the assailants approached Kumar, grabbed him, and stabbed him in the left thigh before fleeing the scene. Despite being rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital by his friend and locals, Kumar succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The victim's friend played a crucial role in identifying the suspects, leading to a swift police response. Authorities launched a search operation and apprehended the three individuals from different parts of the neighborhood over the next four hours.
Sumit Sagar, the 18-year-old suspect, had a criminal record, with at least four cases of burglary registered against him. The police have registered a case of murder against the trio, emphasizing the personal enmity that fueled the tragic incident. Investigations are ongoing to ascertain further details and gather evidence related to the case.
